Possible to earn an Associate’s Degree after Bachelor’s Degree?

airforcewolf asked:

Hello, I will be graduating next year from the university. However, I am interested in nursing but do not qualify for the bachelor’s program in nursing due to a low GPA. Would it be possible for me to go to a community college and earn an A.S. Degree in Nursing even though I already have a B.S. degree?

Nursing degree questions?

girly girl asked:

I am currently a senior in high school and I plan to attend Penn State in the fall to become an RN. I have been talking to my guidance counselors and I am a little confused. From what they told me I can get an associates in nursing in 2 years and be considered an RN, and then re-enroll to get my Bachelors degree. The part I am confused about is when I go back for my Bachelors degree is it just an additional 2 years, or is it another 4 years?

Thanks so much to anyone who helps!!

Nursing Options for someone who already has a bachelor’s degree?

bfell23 asked:

I have a bachelor’s degree, but would like to pursue a nursing career. I have found that there are accelerated nursing programs but the pre requisites would be a step backwards in order to gain acceptance in the program. I have also seen that there are online nursing programs. Are these any good? My goal is to get a bachelor’s degree in nursing and become a registered nurse. What would be the most efficient way to complete this goal?

What is the difference between having an associates than a bachelors degree for nursing?

southerngal109 asked:

Here is the deal, I am trying to pursue a degree in nursing at the moment. I don’t want to be a nurse for the rest of my life. I plan on getting another degree in biopsychology. So the nursing degree is just a stepping stone for me. So what is the difference in the way I can use these degrees? Will I make less money with an associates degree? Or is it just that I can’t apply for nursing supervising positions? If I did the associates degree, I would be saving 7,000 and would be finished a semester earlier. I hope you shed some light on this situation. It will be truely appreciated.

Nursing Degree? Is it okay to start off at a junior college and transfer?

Vale Of TearsTM. asked:

I’m a senior in high school, and my high school grades weren’t the best, but I took honors and AP classes. I only I got into a few UCs and Cal States(state CA). I also did not volunteer or do any work experience having to do with nursing during high school. I want to pursue a career in Nursing though. Is it okay if I start off at a junior college, get like a 2 year associate’s degree in Nursing, and then transfer to another university to get a bachelor’s degree in Nursing Sciences or whatevers? I was thinking, if I work hard at the junior college then transfer it would be okay, but I’m also afraid of not being able to fulfill my goal of becoming a nurse. Anyone have any advice or experiences that would help me with my decision? D:

Is it worth getting an associates degree in nursing when I already have a bachelor’s degree in something else?

Nenax asked:

My husband is in the military and I have a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a minor in sociology. I always find it very difficult to find employment after we relocate every 2-3 years. I have been looking into getting an associates degree in nursing, due to the fact that it is a job that is always in demand no matter where we get stationed. I was wondering if people think it is worth doing since I already have a bachelor’s degree or what other advice I could get on the subject.

Is it possible to obtain a master’s degree in pathology with a bachelor’s degree in nursing?

Rachel G asked:

My long term goal is to become a forensic pathologist, or at least a pathologists’ assistant. I know that many med schools (or the very few schools that offer a pathologists’ assistant program) prefer you have a bachelor’s in biology, chemistry or biochemistry, but is it possible that they would accept a bachelor’s in nursing as well?
