Aleammmmm asked:

this may be a really stupid question to some.. but im working towards become a nurse, and plan on going to med school in the future. Does anyone know if med school considers a nursing degree or does it have to be some sort of other bachelors? would it be smarter to get a different degree? THANK YOU

It doesn’t matter what your undergraduate degree is injust make sure you take the required science classes. You’ll probably be more prepared to go to med school if you work as a nurse first, though.

As long as you have the math/science/English pre-requisites [with at least a 3.5 GPA], score high on the MCAT’s, have great recommendations, and, ideally, experience in the field [say working in a prof's lab or volunteering in a hospital], you have a chance. The nursing degree would give you something to fall back on in case you’re not admitted to med school. But med schools like to see “well-rounded” candidates and having to take all the clinical work required for a BSN might preclude you from being able to take many liberal arts courses.
