As with any other job, bachelors = more money

You can get your associates degree before you get your bachelors. There are more oppurtunites for advancement within the profession with a bachelors.

I am a nurse in WI. I work in a hospital. I have an Assoc.Degree. The pay is exactly the same for a staff nurse no matter which degree you have.

An Assoc degree takes 2 yrs at a Technical College. A Bach.degree is 4 yrs at a university.
All graduates take the same NCLEX licensing exam regardless of the degree.

Some students want a Bach.degree because it is needed if you have intention to become a nurse practitioner or nurse administrator, etc.
